Celebrating a Royal Recognition for Walton Leigh

Nicola Webster, HSLW at Walton Leigh, was selected last year to become a member of the Department for Education (DfE) Support Staff Reference Group. The group plays an important role in advising the DfE and providing valuable feedback from schools to help inform future government decisions and policies.

In recognition of her outstanding contribution and dedication, Nicola was nominated by the DfE to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on 12th May 2026 a truly special honour and a testament to the incredible work she does for our school community.

As part of this experience, Nicola was invited to nominate a colleague to accompany her, and she chose Hattie Djemal in recognition of her kindness, dedication and compassion towards pupils, parents and staff alike.

This year, Hattie celebrates her 70th birthday and continues to inspire everyone around her with her energy, commitment and care. She shows absolutely no signs of slowing down!

We are incredibly proud of both Nicola and Hattie for this well-deserved recognition and for representing the Trust at such a prestigious event.
